A Bandai Namco employee may have leaked some exciting new details about both Metroid Prime 4 and Ridge Racer 8 on his LinkedIn profile. The details are pretty big if it’s true because the info he has provided has yet to be officially announced by the Bandai Namco publisher itself.
As first spotted by a YouTube user by the name of ‘Doctre81’, the LinkedIn profile of Shawn Pitman has leaked some cool info about some upcoming games coming to the Nintendo Switch console. Pitman currently works for Bandai Namco Studios Singapore.
He posted the following information: “Projects – Unannounced IP (First Person Shooter/Adventure Exclusive to the Nintendo Switch), Ace Combat 7 (VR Aircraft Dogfighting Action-Simulator Exclusive to PS4 and PS4 VR)
Ridge Racer 8 (Drift-based High Speed Car Racing Exclusive to the Nintendo Switch)”.
The first sentence really sounds like Bandai Namco Singapore is the developer for Metroid Prime 4. After all, the Metroid Prime series is exclusive to Nintendo and is also famous for being from the first-person shooter genre.
The most interesting thing he revealed is that Ridge Racer 8 will be exclusive to the Nintendo Switch. The Ridge Racer series used to be exclusively for PlayStation consoles, but now it seems Nintendo has made a deal to make it exclusive to them.
The PS4 audience is most likely comprised of gamers that like more realistic driving games and the same be said for Xbox One owners. This might be a reason why Bandai Namco sided with Nintendo to make Ridge Racer 8 a Switch exclusive. Switch owners need a great racing game and Ridge Racer 8 could put the series back on track after the franchise took a multi-year hiatus.
All of this news is classed as a rumor for now until Bandai Namco as a whole makes an announcement in a press release. That said, all this info could be true since it does not look like that Shawn Pitman would post false information on a LinkedIn profile.
