It has already been over a year since Horizon Zero Dawn came out on PS4 and Sony is celebrating its sales success. It has now been reported that the new IP has already managed to sell over 7.6 million copies worldwide over the past 365 days. This is a very impressive number for an entirely new IP exclusive to PS4.
Sony made the blockbuster announcement over on its PlayStation Blog website. It’s the game’s first birthday and it is also the best selling new PS4 exclusive IP for Sony. It has sold more copies than the likes of other new PS4 exclusive IPs like Knack, Bloodborne, The Order 1886 and more.
Guerrilla co founder Hermen Hulst commented: “We had huge ambition for Horizon Zero Dawn and as we approached the launch we knew people were excited, but to see sales of this volume is truly mind blowing. Since launch, millions of players have joined Aloy on a quest to discover the secrets of the old ones. We hope they enjoy playing Horizon Zero Dawn as much as we enjoyed making it.”
In order to celebrate the new milestone, Guerrilla Games is giving away a free PS4 avatar bundle for the game as well as a Photo Mode theme as well. Not to mention the game’s ‘Complete Edition’ will be on sale on the PlayStation Store until March 6th, 2018 for those that have yet to play the game itself and its DLC that came out last year. Horizon Zero Dawn is by far one of the best games to have been released on PS4 and is worth checking out if you love action adventure video games.
