Foundation yesterday reached its funding goal on Kickstarter, meaning the game will be fully funded!
Not only has Foundation smashed its funding goal of CA$75,000 but it has already reached the first stretch goal of a map creation tool. The game itself draws from the likes of Settlers, SimCity and Anno (Dawn of Discovery) to offer gamers an organic city-building simulation experience. After drawing zones Foundation’s AI and procedural technology will create buildings, roads and paths. Unlike other games of a similar ilk, gone is a rigid grid based structure, enabling more flowing medieval style villages to be made.
The Kickstarter currently has 16 days to go, so I’m sure a fair few stretch goals will be reached. Next up at CA$90,000 is advanced visual effects, aiming to make a rather pretty game more stunning with reflections and god rays. Check out the project here and for those unconvinced here are some stunning screenshots!
