One of Ubisoft’s biggest release of 2018 will be out this March and it’s Far Cry 5. The publisher has now announced via a press release a special version of the game called the Far Cry 5 x Mondo Edition.
What’s special about this version of the game is that it includes a vinyl soundtrack. As some of you will know already, vinyl records were one of the earliest physical formats used to store music. You play them on a record player much like modern day DJs now have.
Anyway, vinyl has seen made a return to the present even though most people just listen to music digitally. This version of Far Cry 5 will appeal to people that love old formats. A list of the full contents of the Mondo Edition can be seen below.
- Far Cry® 5 Standard Game
- A unique, exclusive and limited SteelBook® X Mondo designed by Jay Shaw, Creative Director of Mondo
- A vinyl record, featuring Far Cry 5 original soundtrack
- A code to download the digital version of the vinyl tracks
- A unique box featuring Mondo drawing of FC5 villain
Mondo is a collection of artists that have come together to work with Ubisoft on this special project. The main artwork is of a character in the game named Joseph Seed. He is the main villain of the game and can also be seen in the front of the main boxart.
Jay Shaw, Creative Director of Mondo, says the following: “Over the years, we have done pretty much everything related with film collectibles and this collaboration represents the next step: with gaming you’re lot more open, to interpret. It’s a bigger story. We are very happy to collaborate with an extraordinarily creative company like Ubisoft!”
You will have to pre-order quickly because only 4000 units of this version of Far Cy 5 exist in the world. You can order it by visiting the website for the official Ubisoft Store.
