Nintendo Switch Has Already Outsold The Xbox One In Spain

Even though the Xbox One came out in Europe back in November 2013, Spanish gamers seem to like the Nintendo Switch better. This is because the latter has sold more units in 10 months than what Microsoft has achieved over several years.

According to a report from GameReactor Spain, the Xbox One console has close to 300,000 units in its lifetime over in Spain. Well the Nintendo Switch has surpassed that milestone already even though Nintendo’s console only came out back in March 2017.

The Switch is so far selling faster than the original Wii over in Spain, although no official numbers have been shared yet. Still, this is a win for Nintendo mainly because the company failed really hard with the Wii U console.

The main reason the Switch is so popular is the fact that it can be both a home and portable console. The Wii U didn’t have that many attractive features and was considered to be a flop by many despite the system having a lot of cool games for you to play.

However, the PS4 in Spain is still the best selling console in this current generation. Sony’s console has sold over 2 million units and could exceed over 3 million units in its lifetime. From a worldwide standpoint, the console has already sold well over 70 million units worldwide.

It will be interesting to see how 2018 fares when it comes to hardware sales. Microsoft will be pushing its newly released Xbox One X console really hard, while Sony still has the PS4 Pro. Nintendo’s Switch continues to sell out worldwide so 2018 should be a great year for gamers no matter what system you currently own.
