Star Wars Battlefront 2 may have had a shaky launch thanks to the loot box controversy, but EA is slowly making the game much better thanks to constant free updates. EA and DICE have now announced even more new content coming to the game later this year.
EA and DICE made the exciting announcements over on the official Battlefront 2 website. One of the new features coming to Star Wars Battlefront 2 is a fresh game mode called Jetpack Cargo. As the name suggests, this will allow players to fly around in jet packs like Boba Fett. Other details are posted below.
We’re working on a revamped progression system: Your feedback has been essential here, and we are preparing significant changes to progression that will address many of the things we’ve seen players asking for. We’ll be sharing more details about these changes in March.
A game mode called Jetpack Cargo is coming in February: Two teams of eight players equipped with jet packs compete in Jetpack Cargo, a frantic, fast-paced way to play. This mode will only be available for a limited time, so don’t miss it.
A new Season is coming soon: We’ve learned a lot from the first season of content for Star Wars Battlefront II, and we’re integrating those insights into our plans moving forward. We know you’re waiting for details on what’s coming in the next season, and we’ll have more to tell you soon.
The great thing about the game is that all future content is free to all players. There’s no Season Pass for you to purchase and extra maps and characters come at no additional cost. EA and DICE did this in order to keep the player population high. When DLC is paid for by real money, the population usually gets segregated as not everyone bothers to buy every DLC in other games.
