God of War PS4 Will Not Have A Season Pass

Most modern video games bombard us with Season Passes to get some more money from its customers. However, Sony Santa Monica is being kind for God of War PS4 because the game will not have a Season Pass of any kind whatsoever.

God of War PS4’s creative director, Cory Balrog, posted the following on his Twitter account while replying to a fan question: “No season pass. As for the story questions – you will have to wait and play the game to see how it all shakes out. I just finished another play-through last night around midnight and it was still awesome! I’m totally biased, though.”

This comes as good news because Season Passes can usually be very expensive. Not to mention this might mean the game will not be littered with a lot of unwanted DLC.

That said, the game might only have one or two DLC packs when it gets released mainly because it’s a single player only experience. There’s no online multiplayer so you won’t have to buy things like extra skins or open loot boxes like other AAA video games.

Anyway, this new God of War game is the fourth in the main series, not including the games that released on PSP and the 2013 Ascension prequel. It will feel different from most other games in the series because it has a different camera perspective and is more story driven than before.

The game will be available later this year on both the PS4 and PS4 Pro consoles. It is exclusive to those consoles. A specific release date has yet to be finalized, but it’s expected it will be out in the month of March 2018. Stay tuned here at JPS for more coverage of this game which could be the best PS4 exclusive this year.
