Historically, some game developers and publishers show excellent trailers at E3, but then the final game product sees a lot of visual downgrades. Sony showed Killzone 2 at E3 which looked far better than the actual game itself. Ubisoft on the other hand wowed people with Watch Dogs, but the final product did not have impressive visuals.
Well comparison videos have now surfaced for God of War PS4 and some people are claiming the game has received graphical downgrades. The comparison videos stem from footage taken from E3 and comparing it to the new trailer/screenshots that were shared a few days ago.
However, a designer that has worked on the game has denied these claims. Designer Raf Grassetti posted on his Twitter page the following message: “What has changed is just the direction of light and fog, the content is the same as the E3 trailer, but different context, you will understand when you play. The Jormungandr, Kratos and Atreus continue exactly like the trailer are comparing with other scenes and lights. I’m laughing seeing the comments :)”
He also had this to say about the recent screenshots shared: “A few realtime shots from the #godofwar Story trailer. It was really difficult to put it together at the same time of trying to finish the full 25+ hours game with this quality. Props to everyone that helped out during the making of it and for @corybarlog for being a crazy genius!”
You have to admit, God of War PS4 will look gorgeous no matter what. The game looks great both on a normal PS4 console as well as the more powerful PS4 Pro console. The full game itself will be released worldwide on April 20th, 2018.
