Square Enix shared a bit of news about the developments of Final Fantasy 7 Remake as well as the upcoming Dissidia Final Fantasy NT video game coming out later this year exclusively for the PS4 console.
First of all as reported by DualShockers, the Weekly Famitsu magazine in Japan got to interview the game’s producer, Yoshinori Kitase, where he commented about the game’s development. He did not say that much, but says that development for the game is going really well.
Development for the game is going pretty slowly, but this is understandable since Square Enix is working from scratch. Unlike other remakes, it’s being built from the ground up since they cannot just recycle outdated PSOne assets into the remake.
While we wait for that game to come out, Dissidia Final Fantasy NT will be released first on the PS4 on January 30th, 2018. It is a fighting game that features many of your favorite Final Fantasy characters going into battle.
During a recent livestream, Square Enix confirmed that six DLC characters are already planned. Sadly, not many clues were given to us on who they might be yet.
All we know is that two of the characters will be female while the other four will be male. There’s quite a few fighters I’d like to see added not in the base game including Tifa, Yuna, Rikku and more.
Since the game is coming out later this month, we might not know the DLC characters just yet. Usually things like DLC are announced after a game has launched. The launch game is still generous as it features characters from many of the Final Fantasy video games released in its rich 31 year history. It might be worth buying while we wait for the likes of Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Kingdom Hearts III to finally come out.
