You may have noticed 2K announced the release of the Nintendo Switch version of WWE 2K18 quite quickly without notification. Well it sounds like the WWE forced 2K to hastily release the game with little promotion.
According to an exclusive report from Wrestling News World, WWE wanted 2K to release the Nintendo Switch version of WWE 2K18 during Black Friday in order for the game to get more sales.
However, 2K was far from ready to release the game so they missed the Black Friday target. The WWE apparently got impatient and wanted them to release the game as soon as possible.
The idea behind WWE’s strategy is that they thought people would buy two versions of the game. One for PS4/Xbox One/PC and the second one on the Nintendo Switch so that they can play the game anywhere they want.
We cannot confirm if this report is 100 percent true or not which is why we labelled it as a rumor. That being said, there may be some truth to it given the circumstances.
As aforementioned, 2K announced the release date for the Nintendo Switch version of WWE 2K18 just a day before which is very unusual. Not to mention it sounds like 2K were rushed to release the game which is why the Switch version of the game runs so poorly.
It will be interesting to see if WWE 2K19 gets released for the Nintendo Switch next year. 2K18 is bad on the Nintendo Switch as all of the wrestling matches look like they are occurring in slow motion. It’s not the Switch’s fault though because NBA 2K18 runs fine on the handheld…
