Sony has announced via its PlayStation Blog an updated version of the PlayStation VR headset. It has some features that were not available in the SKU that came out last year.
This updated version includes integrated stereo headphones that makes the design sleeker with less cables for you to worry about.
Another thing this new PlayStation VR model allows is for you to be able view HDR content on your TV without needing to “disconnect the Processor Unit in between the TV and the PS4 system“. Bear in mind, the VR headset will still need to be turned off for this to work. It’s also worth mentioning this doesn’t mean the actual VR headset can output HDR images.
The price of the updated model will be the same, but will have slightly different packaging. All previous and future PSVR video games are compatible on both models. Details of a release date are to be shared at a later date.
