Sony continues to show its dominance in the video gaming market as the PS4 console outsold both the Xbox One and Nintendo Switch consoles in the month of June 2017.
As noted by VentureBeat, the PS4’s sales were high mainly because of the new gold colored 1TB PS4 Slim that was released on June 9th. The sale price at the time was $250 which is $50 cheaper than the normal price.
Sales for the Nintendo Switch aren’t slowing down though, it’s just because the console is suffering supply issues. Due to high demand, stores cannot stock enough units fast enough.
It will be interesting to see what happens this Fall. The PS4 is likely to stay strong, but Super Mario Odyssey and the release of the Xbox One X console in November could give Sony competition.
