Still A Bad Time To Release Tekken x Street Fighter Says Bandai Namco

Tekken X Street Fighter

Tekken x Street Fighter has been one of those elusive video games that were announced several years ago but never to come out. Bandai Namco still says it’s a bad time to develop the game even though it was revealed during the PS3/Xbox 360 era.

IGN interviewed Bandai Namco’s Katsuhiro Harada about the status of the crossover game and his reply might bother you. He still feels that it’s not the right time to release the game.

He said: This has been said before, but Tekken x Street Fighter, the current timing is just that Capcom is putting a lot of effort into building up Street Fighter V, for us, we’re looking straight towards the release of Tekken 7, and we just decided that it wasn’t a very good idea to split both of those groups by adding a third title that covers both and to the same timing, so it’s more about the timing and waiting for the right chance for that.

The closest thing you can get right now is getting a chance to play as Akuma in Tekken 7. This is the first time that a Street Fighter character has been added to the Tekken video games.

You can always look back and play Street Fighter x Tekken instead, although that game featured Tekken characters jumping into the realm of the Street Fighter gameplay engine. People want the vice versa to happen.
