Bandai Namco has decided to not feature Roger the Kangaroo in Tekken 7 to avoid backlash from animal activists. Bandai Namco wants to avoid having to deal with the negative publicity.
Tekken 7’s producer, Katsuhiro Harada, revealed the bad news during a recent interview with VG24/7. His removal is due to a viral YouTube video that circulated last year when a man punched a real-life Kangaroo. The animal activists complained about it.
He further said: “It seems that in the last few years there’s a lot more animal activists – even though they probably wouldn’t play our game they would still hear about that, about a kangaroo in our game being punched, and would complain about it.”.
He said Kuma is still in the game because everyone knows that a bear is stronger than a human being. Are you sad that Roger will not be in the new game?
