Ndemic Creations have recently launched a board game of the popular app Plague Inc.
The game, which has been downloaded by 85 million people, has been turned into a 1-4 player board game. In the board game, players assume the roles of deadly diseases, as they attempt to wipe out humanity. Not your typical save the world job at Plague Inc.
The board game draws much of its theming and gameplay from the app, with players’ unique pathogens evolving this time through via Trait cards. Plague Inc: The Board Game was brought into existence via a successful Kickstarter project run by British designer and Ndemic founder, James Vaughan. The game received over $400,000 in funding from 7,000 backers, so did rather well for itself at 1000% of its original funding goal.
