After many years just making games for mobile only, Marvel is finally making the leap to consoles and PC. They will have original stories and backgrounds.
We knew that Spider-Man PS4 was going to have a new take on the character, but now we have confirmation that all future video games from the company won’t be tied down to existing stories or material.
As noted by IGN, Marvel Games Creative Director Bill Rosemann spoke to the site to tell us what is in store for the future of the company’s video games.
He said: “We want all of our games to tell an original, all new story. We want [our development partners] to have passion, we want them to put their stamp on the games. It’s their game. We want it to be their vision”
He also mentions that they don’t plan on rushing to release any of its games. Marvel wants studios to take their time in crafting games so they don’t have to rush to tie-in with an upcoming movie or anything like that.
As of right now, Marvel has four announced video games. These include Spider-Man PS4, Guardians of the Galaxy, Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite and a game based on The Avengers.
