During an event earlier today in Japan, Capcom unveiled plans to bring Resident Evil 0 out of the archives and onto next gen.
This upcoming remaster of a previously Nintendo-exclusive survival horror title comes on the wings of announcing Resident Evil Remaster as one of Capcom’s best selling digital titles of all time. With both the GameCube/Wii versions of these two titles built upon the same framework, it seems no herculean task to get the adventures of Rebecca and Billy running at the highest fidelity possible.
Details were scarce on Resident Evil 0‘s release, save for a targeted release date of Early 2016 for the following platforms: PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC. If this follows a recent trend of HD Remasters under Capcom’s portfolio, it will see a primarily digital release worldwide with a few physical releases, typically in the Asian market. Project director Koji Oda and producer Tsukasa Takenaka provided the following video message to build excitement for the upcoming remaster of Resident Evil 0.
