Hellraid was announced a good while ago as Techland’s next big game for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. However, the developer has announced a major change in the plans as it has been revealed that the game is going next-gen instead, with releases on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Rather than being released on both gens, the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game have been cancelled, but this means that the game can live up to its full potential on next generations consoles and PC. Due to this move, the game is transitioning to Chrome Engine 6, which will bring “a new physics-based lighting system, more detailed locations and character models, complex animations, advanced particle effects, and state-of-the-art AI systems.”
Look for Hellraid to hit Steam Early Access this coming fall, with a full release on both next-gen consoles and PC sometime in 2015. Check out the brand new trailer for the game that shows off the new engine below:
