Just recently, controversy arose when it was revealed that Facebook was purchasing Oculus VR and in turn, the Oculus Rift technology. As with all major purchases, deals are subject to approval by the Federal Trade Commission and it has now been revealed that the purchase has been approved.
Oculus Rift is a VR headset that is on the forefront of VR technology, which many think is the future in gaming. Sony has already introduced their own type of virtual reality headset, so Facebook of all people acquiring Oculus VR was quite the surprise considering their type of gaming. I’m sure there will be plenty of news in the future on how Facebook intends to utilize the Oculus Rift in the future, so make sure to stay tuned.
