While a lot of gamers may not know his name, Yu Suzuki was the producer and director of the critically acclaimed Shenmue series, amongst many others. Shenmue 3 is one of the most requested games out there due to its cult-like popularity, and Suzuki has stated in the past he’d love to return to the series. Now, he has actually mentioned that he has looked into the possibility of utilizing Kickstarter to make that happen.
In an interview with Eurogamer, Suzuki was asked if he had considered the possibility of using something like Kickstarter to fund the game, in which he said said that he is “researching” that possibility. Considering the extremely high costs of the original two games, this may be a little too farfetched, but it is nice to know that he is at least looking at it.
