Originally scheduled for release this coming spring, Pillars of Eternity was announced as having been delayed by developer Obsidian Entertainment. At the time, they said that the current scope of the game just wouldn’t allow them to meet that release window. However, they have now re-aimed their sights for a release by winter 2014.
Raising $3.9 million through Kickstarter under the name Project Eternity, Obsidian is making sure that the Pillars of Eternity RPG will be as good for the fans as possible. One of the game’s producers, Rose Gomez, has also said that while they are still taking donations, there will be no more stretch goals to meet. This is probably a good thing so that the staff can focus on the already existing game and goals.
