Yoshi’s New Island is the return to a classic setting from the Super Nintendo that gamers still adore today. We first learned about it last year during a Nintendo Direct and now we finally have a set release date for the game, March 14.
In a press release put out by Nintendo today, they discussed how successful the Nintendo 3DS has been, especially in 2013. The release also included some information about Yoshi’s New Island, including the release date.
The game is being produced by Takashi Tezuka, the creative director of the original Yoshi’s Island for Super NES. Yoshi reunites with Baby Mario in a gorgeous landscape to help him to safety. Flutter jumps, ground pounds and egg throws all return, along with some new actions that use the unique features of Nintendo 3DS.
Yoshi’s New Island will be available in retail and the Nintendo 3DS eShop starting on March 14.
