Halo: Spartan Assault first arrived for PC and Windows 8 Phones over the summer as a little entry in the series with top-down third-person shooter action. The game was announced for a release on the Xbox One for Christmas Eve, but Christmas has come early as the game is already available today.
Halo: Spartan Assault is 343 Industries’ latest entry in the Halo franchise, with a little help from Vanguard Entertainment. The game takes place between Halo 3 and Halo 4 while playing as newcomers Edward Davis or Sarah Palmer in the fight against the Covenant.
The game will also be coming to Xbox 360 in January at some point, but you won’t be able to do cross-system play between the Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions. You can download the Xbox One version right now for $14.99.
