Microsoft has revealed that the voice commands for the Xbox One are region-locked.
If you are not part of the 13 countries that will be getting the Xbox One on November 22nd, you’ll be missing out on the voice command feature. Even if you import a console, you can must be fluent in English, French or German. No other languages are supported at this time. Not to mention if you’re a New Zealander, Irish or Austrian, voice commands won’t be available yet either even though the Xbox One is launching in those countries.
Microsoft’s Albert Penello confirmed the following in a NeoGaf post:
Voice is locked to the region. So no, unfortunately.
