Pokemon X and Pokemon Y introduces a second Mega Evolution for a classic

Pokemon X and Pokemon Y (1)

Awhile back we brought you the Pokemon X and Pokemon Y news that three of its most iconic Pokemon would be receiving a Mega Evolution in Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise. Now we have some surprising news as we have learned that Charizard will not only be receiving one Mega Evolution, but two completely different ones.

Mewtwo was the first Pokemon to be announced to be getting two separate Mega Evolutions, depending on what version of the game you get. A new trailer released today shows that Charizard will also be getting two separate forms, both of different types.

Mega Charizard Y is the form that we have seen before that looks similar to normal Charizard and is a Fire and Flying type. The newly introduced Mega Charizard X is very different, taking on a black and blue form, while being a Fire and Dragon type with stronger physical attacks thanks to its special ability Tough Claws.

You can get a chance to try these out yourself with Pokemon X and Pokemon Y launch on October 12 worldwide. Check out the new trailer and gallery of images below:
