Near an old mountain path once used by Sixth Astral Era woodcutters as a detour through the more perilous stretches of northern Thanalan, lies a cave sought out only by the ignorant or the foolish. Upon first glance, the shade of its maw might appear inviting to one who seeks to escape the punishing rays of midday sun. However, any good woodcutter knows to keep his distance, for it is said all who enter, never return – the cries of the damned echoing up from the depths the only testament to their folly. Heed this dire warning and you may live. Ignore it, and soon it shall be your screams that add to the cacophony.

Overview
– Cutter’s Cry is an optional dungeon that you can unlock by paying the NPC a visit in Ul’dah Markets. The dungeon consists of several different areas and three boss fights. Unlike the Sunken Temple of Qarn, Cutter’s Cry does not have any puzzles, although expect some challenging boss fights.
– To travel from one area to the next, use a portal called Shifting Sands. This portal appears after clearing the area.
– In every area of this dungeon, there is a treasure coffer waiting for you. A majority of them contain an atherial quality gear. It’s recommended that you explore every nook and cranny of the dungeon.
Myrmidon Princess – Mini Boss
– Myrmidon Princess is an interesting boss since the spider tries to overwhelm you with the amount of adds she respawns. In this boss fight, she has two phases.
Phase One
– The first phase of this boss fight is pretty laid back. The princess only uses one move and that’s the Mandible Bite. There’s nothing to be worried about this phase; have the tank get the attention of the boss while the DPS deal the damage.
Phase Two
– When the boss drops tp below 50% HP, the second phase of the fight begins. This is where things will get overwhelming. At the start, the boss spawns three Myramidon Soldier. DPS should then kill the soldier spiders.
– As the boss continues to drop its HP, she spawns another set of her underling: Myramidon Marshal and Myramidon Guard. These two adds make the fight hard as the Marshal heals the Princess while the Guard stays close and protects her.
– Once all three of her underlings are up on the area, the main priority of the group is to take the soldiers, guard and the marshal. As the team progresses in the fight, the boss will keep spawning soldiers and guards. When this happens, forget attacking the Marshal and get the two underlings first; then you can focus back on the Marshal. Use Limit Break if possible on the Marshall to take it down immediately.
Don’t worry about the Marshal healing the boss. It’s the group’s top priority to take down the Marshal when the soldier and guard adds are out of the picture. Just remember that the boss will keep spawning the soldiers and guards until she’s dead, although the Marshal will only appear once.
