When Undead Labs released State of Decay, one of their original plans was to release a multiplayer DLC down the road to further enhance the experience when playing the game.
Those who are still hoping for that multiplayer DLC should just give up as Undead Labs confirmed to IGN that it is not coming at all. While the news may sadden a lot of its fans, Jeff Strain of Undead Labs confirmed that in the future State of Decay games, the company will implement it. Here’s the complete statement of Strain:
It’s not simply a matter of adding the technology, but also redesigning core game systems to support multiple players, and then adding new content designed for people to play together. It’s easy to imagine how all that would come together — as many have said, the game is practically begging for it — but retrofitting the game to add that experience would take the rest of this year, and well into the next. Worse, it would preclude our ability to offer any other kind of support for the game, including Title Updates and DLC.
Regardless of the missing co-op multiplayer on State of Decay, the game is still fun and a lot of people have enjoyed it including us. For more information on State of Decay, check out our review.

July 11, 2013 at 7:27 AMredesign the system is a aload of crap. Multiplayer has been the plan all along so why couldn’t they make the system that would support themultiplayer to begin with? I think they lied to the players on purpose to just get money. Very disappointed with this company already. Wouldn’t surprise me if they cancel the pc version next or sandbox mode. For the record sandbox mode would of been fine for multiplayer.
