Two days ago, Sony released its newest PS3 4.45 firmware update that caused a mass hysteria to a lot of PS3 owners due to bricking their consoles after the update.
When Sony found out the problem, they immediately took down the update preventing others from suffering the same problem. As for those who have downloaded the update, they are left with a bricked console waiting for Sony to release a patch that will fix them. Those who are still wondering on the status of the fix that Sony wants to implement, unfortunately they’re still investigating.
In Morgan Haro’s recent update, Digital Platforms Community Manager of SCEA, he said that they currently have no update. No word as to when it will be fixed. Here’s his official statement:
Hello all,
Wanted to follow up and let you know that we are still actively examining the issue in which certain users experienced problems booting their PS3 after the firmware update.
Thank you for your patience, but I don’t have any more news to share at this time. Please continue to watch this thread for updates, and subscribe to it to receive emails for further updates.
At least with Sony pulling out the firmware update temporarily, those who wants to turn on their PS3 can now do so without the need of updating it to get online. Stay tuned as we update you on the whole PS3 4.45 firmware update debacle.

This is where I went to get my system working.
It is the non-corrupt 4.45 file.
Plus a bit of an instructional on how to.
Easy and free!
