With the beta phase 3 of Final Fantasy XIV now live on both the PC and PlayStation 3, there are certain things you will need to know such as what’s new in this current beta phase.
If you are coming from beta phase 2, please note that all of your characters prior to the third phase will be wiped out. You will have to restart all over again as you level up to 35. While it sounds like a tedious thing to do, Square Enix added new content to freshen up the game by adding two new areas in the starter cities of Limsa Lominsa and Ul’dah. Expect new class quests, sidequests and many more in this phase 3.
Those who have version 1 before on PC, they will be granted free access to the beta phase 3. On a bad note, what you do in this phase will not carry over on the open beta phase in a month or two. Here are the full details of beta phase 3:
– Phase 3 characters will be deleted at the start of phase 4.– Data centers will be located in Japan and overseas.– More than 20 Worlds will be available.– All character customization options will be available.– Beta Phase 3 characters can level from 1-35.-Version 1.0 characters can be used.* In this case, the level cap will be that of the Version 1.0 character’s.– Testing will commence on the PlayStation®3.– All FFXIV service account holders qualify as testers in phase 3.– The following elements will be introduced for testing:Limsa Lominsa and Ul’dah leveling paths / Additional side quests Additional class quests / Additional Full Active Time Events / Additional dungeons Free companies (formation and management) / Free company points
If you have not signed up to the beta, head over to the official Final Fantasy XIV website.

June 15, 2013 at 5:38 PMI’ve tried everything I could and still havnt gotten a PS3 beta code, I’m really looking forward to this game, I’ve been playing DCUO since beta and I’m ready to give that up and go to A Realm Reborn but I’d like to try it out first before I’m certain. I have alot of anticipation for this game.

June 16, 2013 at 3:49 AMDCUO is getting lame, and turning into crap on ps3, That nexus raid is BS, groups that beat it 8 times can go in again and just be destroyed on the 9th. It not just based on skills, skill points, gear and burn/heals/power/tanking….its also based on luck. You keep trying till luck is on your side which makes it BS and not even worth it.
Final Fantasy seemed perfect from the start the speed of the menus and loadtime. No lag at all haven’t froze (sometimes that happens with betas. yet DC freezes whenever. So much to do it can be overwhelming.

June 17, 2013 at 1:18 PM1. servers have been down since ~4am CST Sunday because they’re only doing beta testing on weekends currently. they will post the schedules on the official beta forums; last round they’d email the times as well to w/e email you registered your beta account with. Later in phase 3 they’ll be looking at having the servers up more days consecutively
2. If you received a ps3 code and it does not work contact SE customer service. They’re aware there is a problem. Some codes for US users went out as EU beta keys. It was on their twitter and on the official beta forums.
