Following from the release date and trailer announcement for Lighting Returns: Final Fantasy XIII earlier this week, Square Enix has revealed more detailed information the game.
Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII will be one of the most unique games in Final Fantasy history. Not to mention only Lightning herself will be a playable character. Square Enix also announced the whole Final Fantasy XIII series has shipped over 9.8 million units worldwide.
The game will be out February 11th in North America and February 14th in Europe for the PS3 and Xbox 360.

-Hope will be Lightning’s navigator, they will communicate continuously when you walk
-Snow will be an antagonist in one of the mission, he is a patron in Yusnaan
-Snow’s desire to protect people has carried over the entire city of Yusnaan
-During battles Lightning can switch between Schemas, each schema has its own attacks. You switch schema by pressing L1 and R1.
-Battle commands are mapped to buttons. For Divinity Schema, the commands are Thunder (Triangle), Attack (Circle), Block (Square) and Galestrike (X).
-For Dark Muse, the commands are Electric Blitz (Triangle), Heavy Slash (Circle), Lesser Guard (Square) and Light Slash (X)
-For Sorceress, the commands are Firaga (Triangle), Ruin (Circle), Lesser Guard (Square), Blizzara (X)
-You gain advantage by striking first, where the enemies lose 10% of HP when fight starts
-If enemy touches Lightning first, she loses 5% HP when battle starts
-If Lightning hits the enemy from the back in the map, they lose 25% HP when battle starts
-Each Schema has its own ATB gauge, when you used up the ATB gauge, you can switch to another Schema and wait for the previous Schema to recover the ATB gauge
-You will have to wait if you use up the ATB gauge completely in all 3 active schemas, you can walk around in the battle field
-Block from Divinity schema reduces more damages than Lesser Block in Sorceress or Dark Muse
-Stronger attacks drain more in the ATB gauge
-In one scene Lumina was surprised that Lightning can see her, she wasn’t one of god’s usual lackeys; then she summons a dragon type monster Zaltys to attack Lightning
-Lightning can stagger an enemy by repeatedly attack its elemental weaknesses, then the enemy will be incapacitated
-You can trigger Overdrive by pressing L2, it will slow down time and allow you to stagger enemy quickly
