Today is a good day for all Star Wars fans as Disney finally decided that EA will be getting the exclusive licensing rights to develop and publish future Star Wars games.
What does that mean? It means that following the closure of LucasArts last month, EA will be the sole developer and publisher of future Star Wars games to all gaming consoles. Let’s hope with this news, EA will pick up the rights to continue the development of Star Wars 1313, which is very likely, and the rumored Battlefront III.
Currently, there’s no word as to what titles EA will be developing at this moment. Rest assured though that EA creative teams in the world like DICE, Visceral, and Bioware, which is already in charge of the Old Republic, will be among the teams that will handle the Star Wars saga.
