Santa Monica (developer for God of War: Ascension) needed to change the name of a trophy in the game as it was deemed to be too offensive.
A day one patch will be released to rename a trophy called “Bros before Hos”. Some people have criticized the name of this trophy and how its earned. They feel it’s misogynistic and condoned violence towards women.
Although the trophy itself isn’t earned until after a male character named Orkos betrays his mother to help out Kratos. Still, some commentators felt uneasy about the entire scene altogether as Kratos brutally beats up one of the female Furies and impales her on a spike.
Although the scene is violent, the female Fury wasn’t killed (yet). Still, it’s a hard watch to witness since it’s all seen from a first-person perspective.
