Arvind Bhatia, CFA and Brett Strauser from Sterne Agee are expecting that Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V will sell 20 million copies over its lifetime.
They expect Rockstar to ship 13.5 million copies of the game during the March quarter when Grand Theft Auto V is shipped during Spring 2013. The sales prediction from these analysts are realistic, although it’s expected the game might sell lower than its predecessors.
Grand Theft Auto IV sold 22 million copies over its lifetime while Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas sold an astounding 27 million copies.
It’s possible Grand Theft Auto V could sell more than 20 million copies if it plays more like Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and ditches the “realism” that Grand Theft Auto IV was aiming for.
