Slightly Repetitive
No matter what trilogy it was, having three games which are similar unfortunately inevitably results in the games feeling somewhat repetitive. To put the feeling into context if you were watching a trilogy of films mostly the theme will be the same and what the characters do will be somewhat similar and this is the case with the Ratchet and Clank Trilogy. Despite the basis of the games being great, it is all the same. There is plenty added in the second and third titles, but occasionally you may think “Oh, this again,” however this isn’t too often. The basis is a platformer but the extras that have been added majorly limit this repetitive nature; despite this, it still slips through now and again.
Offline Multiplayer Has PS2 Graphics
If you choose to play Ratchet & Clank 3’s multiplayer mode offline, just be warned that the graphics take a huge dip in quality. Although I found the multiplayer mode to still be fun, the graphics are no longer of HD quality and looks like something more akin to the original PS2 game released back in 2004…
Verdict
For those new to the games or even the franchise, Rachet and Clank are an amazing duo. Though, don’t take my word for it as you should definitely try the games and this HD collection is one of the best ways to do it. The presentation isn’t what we are used to these days from the series, but the game hasn’t majorly aged due to the pleasant cartoony style and the witty satire. The most important thing remains, being that the games are just as fun as they were when they were originally released. Whether you are playing the trilogy for the first time or re-playing them, they will bring a smile to your face.
