If you’re old enough, you may have played a very famous game called “Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego?” First released in 1985, the game has now caught the eyes of Hollywood producers.
The game spawned many spin-offs over the years and even an animated cartoon. Jennifer Lopez (yes J-Lo) is said to be one of the producers and could very well play the role of Carmen Sandiego herself.
The script is being penned by Darren Lemke who wrote Shrek Forever After and the upcoming Jack the Giant Killer.
The plot is that Carmen Sandiego defects as a detective from the ACME Agency to become a criminal. It’s up to he former colleagues to track her whereabouts. Is Carmen Sandiego really a criminal or did she stumble upon something bigger?
There’s potential this film could be better than most video game movies. Let’s hope Hollywood does not screw up this one.
