A couple of months ago, Atlus announced that the Demon’s Souls’ servers will be going offline on May 31, 2012. While that brought bad news indeed for fans who are still playing the game up to this point, Atlus revealed today that they’ve decided to extend it “for the foreseeable future”.
“While it originally seemed as though it would be unfeasible for us to continue to sustain the servers, a number of developments have made it possible for us to continue to invest in and support our fans as they have continued to invest in and support us and Demon’s Souls.” – Tim Pivnicny, Atlus VP of Marketing and Sales
It’s no doubt that playing cooperatively on Demon’s Souls is fun, especially reading at the notes that other players have left to give us hints and direction on what lies ahead. Since the extension as of right now is indefinite, those who are still playing should enjoy it as much as they can. We never know when will Atlus going to pull the plug…
