The great thing about this beta is that full level progression is available. Depending on how long and skilful you are at playing the beta, you have a chance to unlock more weapons, accessories and gadgets. Some of the gadgets you unlock are really fun such as the drone.
You also have a chance to checkout the “Gunsmith” mode in the beta as well. This allows you to customize your weapons anyway you see fit. You can add scopes, a different trigger, magazines and even colorful paint on your guns. I don’t think I’ve ever played a shooting game before that allows you to paint your gun bright blue or green!
In terms of controls, Ghost Recon: Future Solider feels a lot more fluid and natural than when I played the first Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter game. Ghost Recon: Future Soldier feels a lot like playing Gears of War since the cover systems are very similar. Melee attacks in this game are also more satisfying as the animations are realistic. Unlike with Call of Duty games or Battlefield 3 where it’s just a basic knife attack…
I’m not the biggest shooting game fan and I find myself getting killed all the time during multiplayer games. I have to admit, I wasn’t too great at playing Ghost Recon: Future Soldier as well although I still found it quite enjoyable. The team-based objectives were fun and multiplayer matches were less chaotic as those seen in Call of Duty games. The one thing I admired most about Ghost Recon: Future Soldier were the smooth controls and accurate motion captured animation.
Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is out May 22nd in North America and May 24th in Europe.
