Sony has pulled two games from the Playstation Store stating that they have concerns that the titles can be used to exploit the Vita hardware. MotorStorm Arctic Edge and Hot Shots Tennis can no longer be downloaded off of the store or from any device that connects to the system. The hack in question supposedly allowed users to run unsigned code on the Vita in “PSP mode,” enabling homebrew programming using the system’s PSP emulation.
Hopefully Sony can iron out the issues so that they can get the games back up on the store and continue selling them. It is a good thing that they caught the problem before another big issue broke out like the one over the Playstation 3 hack. Nobody wants to hear all of that all over again.
