Today, Sony announced SOE Live, a convention dedicated to Sony Online Entertainment’s MMOs. The convention will debut October 18 – 21 this year and will be located at the Bally’s Casino in Las Vegas, NV.
Which titles can you expect to be present at SOE Live this year? The list includes DC Universe Online, EverQuest, EverQuest II, Free Realms, Magic: The Gathering – Tactics, Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures and Vanguard: Saga of Heroes. Also, PlanetSide 2 will receive its debut at Sony’s new convention.
SOE Live is not just the name of the convention though. It is the rebranding of the Sony Online Entertainment label. Laura Naviaux, SOE VP of marketing and sales, made the following statement:
The ‘SOE Live’ name change represents a deeper meaning behind our annual event. As our game portfolio continues to expand, we wanted to better represent our diverse player base and games, including the newest additions to the SOE family, with DC Universe Online, Free Realms, Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures, and the highly anticipated PlanetSide 2. Previous event attendees can rest assured that we are not removing any of our established activities in order to accommodate the new players; rather, they can expect even more to make this the ultimate SOE fan experience.
As with most popular gaming events, SOE Live will include game panels, live events, beta announcements, tournament information, social events and, of course, swag. Check out the official site for more information.
