According to Kotaku, there has been frequent layoffs and a project cancellation at Zipper Interactive. This is apparently an indication, of them closing. Additionally, Sony declined to comment on this rumor, so read that as you want.
While this might seem sudden to some, Zipper Interactive has been doing poorly this generation. With MAG or Massive Action Game not meeting expectations and SOCOM 4 being an extremely unpopular release, it seems possible. When you figure that their latest title, Unit 13 has frequent bugs / glitches / problems, this rumor seems very plausible.
So what do you think? Do you think Sony will give Zipper another chance or was Unit 13 their third strike? Tell us in the comment section below!

March 25, 2012 at 4:23 AMAs long as they keep testing and release it in a good finished condition, they’re cool. It’s Andrew House who wants to kill them off if he has that infidel ego of his. Let them stay or I get them myself, so I make them better and play their games. Most CEOs don’t play the games, but you guys will be lucky enough when I’ll be playing them. Corporatism, my foot, SCEI.
