Most PS3 gamers will have Hulu or Netflix installed onto their PS3 consoles. Since those services aren’t available to use in New Zealand, we have to settle with a service called Quickflix instead.
Quickflix is a movie and TV streaming service which was originally only available in Australia until now. Quickflix has launched in New Zealand today where you can watch unlimited content for a small monthly fee. There’s an introductory price of $9.99 per month until the normal price of $16.99 resumes presumably a few weeks later.
Quickflix joins TVNZ Ondemand and MUBI as avenues New Zealand gamers can stream online content directly onto their PS3 consoles. Some of the content Quickflix users can enjoy include the critically acclaimed “Drive” and even new episodes of Doctor Who just to name a few.
David Hine, Sales & Marketing Director, Sony Computer Entertainment New Zealand:
“PlayStation 3 in New Zealand has today made another leap forward in our home entertainment on demand offering with the exciting addition of Quickflix to our platform. It’s another example of the multichannel delivery of movie content that will provide our customers even more entertainment choices.”
