Square Enix is bringing Scarygirl, a game based on the graphic novel of the same name, to PC, PSN and XBLA later this month.
The game places you as a curious, tentacled little girl as you attempt to find out why an old man haunts your sleep. The games launch trailer doesn’t tell us much, only other than to expect a platformer set in a variety of dark, cartoonish environments. Scarygirl’s original creator (it began life as a flash game, then became a graphic novel, and is now becoming a full game…) Nathan Jurevicius has this to say about the world of Scarygirl:
Abandoned on a remote beach, Scarygirl doesn’t know who she is or where she’s come from. Blister, a kind and intelligent giant octopus, wants to keep her safe, but Scarygirl needs answers. Who is the strange man haunting her dreams? Will Bunniguru help her unlock the mysteries of her past? Can she trust the wily forest dwellers? Her journey takes her to the edge, and beyond …
Welcome to the world of Scarygirl.
Scarygirl is being developed by Californian developers Tik Games and is being published by Square Enix. The game hits XBLA first on the 18th of January and PC and PSN on the 24th.
