EA Bright Light, the developers of the ill-received Harry Potter titles, has finally gone dim as of late last year. It is reported that over 100 people lost their jobs in the shut down or have moved on to other sections of EA divisions.
Bright Light was opened in 1995 under EA UK, which was later renamed to Bright Light in 2007. The studio’s primary focus was on creating family friendly games, especially adapting the Harry Potter movies to games (I can understand why they went under). With Bright Light’s closure the only EA UK-based developer left is Criterion.
