Ever since Amy was announced last year, it was one of those games that everyone had been waiting to hear more news about and to see any screenshots. Throughout 2011, Lexis Numerique has revealed screenshots and videos that lives up to the expectation of gamers; a scary atmospheric environment that was long lost in the survival-horror genre.
Later this week, Amy will finally see the light of day when it’s released on the Xbox Live Marketplace, PlayStation Network and soon to be on the PC. Since the game was announced as a downloadable game, many had doubts on how the game will turn out as most of the downloadable games that are released on a budgeted price of $9.99 or 800 Microsoft Points can either be short or the game is pretty bad.
According to Lexis Numerique, Amy was originally set to be a full retail release, meaning it most likely will carry the price from $19.99 – $59.99. But since the developer wants to save money, they released it as a downloadable game where people can just download it at the respective marketplace.
To those of you who believe this was an attempt to make a few more bucks, we need to precise that we initially wanted to sell AMY at 1200 points, but this would have meant a high price for European players. In addition, we believe AMY is a full game that could have been sold at a regular price at retail but we chose to go digital.
With the game coming out this week, we should have our review of the game. Hopefully at the $9.99 price point, the game will be more than worth the price.

January 10, 2012 at 12:11 PMEvery time I read about the price bit and Europe I feel like they’re beating a dead horse. There are PLENTY of randomly priced PSN titles in both EU/US.
3.59 = Sonic CD
4.79 = Suguiri
3.99 = Altered Beast
1.59 = Arkedo games
5.19 = Amageddom riders
Those are real prices off the European PSN… so I would love the exmaplantion of how they couldn’t get SCEE to charge 6.49 – 6.59.
