– While you enjoy the awesome haunted house effect of the game, follow Vigilant at the entrance of the house.
– As you try to open the door to go out, you’ll hear the mysterious voice again. He’ll then turn Vigilant against you. You can either kill him right away or be killed by him. Your choice.
– The door where it was previous locked will now open, allowing you get your reward for killing Vigilant.
– Go through the door and you’ll learn that the mystery voice you’re talking to is Molag Bal, a Daedric Lord of Corruption.
– In the Altar is a mace. When you claim your reward and pick the Mace up from the altar, there will be spike all around you. He’ll then ask you to find a priest and bring him with you.
– Now go out and look at the marker on your world map. The location of the priest is random.
– Once you located the priest, you’ll be given three option. Choose whatever you want as there won’t be any effect.
– Tell him that you’ve been sent by Molag Bal. Free him and he’ll go to the abandoned house where the altar is.
– Back in the Altar, approach the priest and you’ll see him being imprisoned with the spike.
– Molag Ball will ask you to get his Mace from the Altar.
– Beat the Priest to death three times…
– After doing what Molag Ball asks you to do, you’ll be rewarded with the almighty Mace of Molag Bal.

November 17, 2011 at 1:02 PMYep, that’s definitely one handy mace you gotta get even though you spill blood to do so lol. It absorbs the souls of those you kill and stores them in gems which is a very unique enchantment that apparently can’t be learned. As far as being one of the strongest…well that may be so, earlier in the game, especially after putting it to the grindstone. I stashed mine away immediately after I forged my ‘Ebony Mace’ which did 20+ more damage than my Mace of Molag Bal (Exquisite)

November 18, 2011 at 11:41 AMthat’s not really a rare enchantment i already have on a level 4 character, and i have had it for a long time on my main level 21. Still a cool mace though.

The enchantment the mace does (along with TWENTY FIVE points of damage to health, AND stamina which is better than any mace you can forge/enchant along with the default dmg) is called Soul Trap. It’s not rare whatsoever. There’s a Novice level spell you can learn called.. well Soul Trap. The enchant can be taken from any item with it, which you can find all over the game. You’re obviously not very familiar with the Elder Scrolls series..

December 3, 2011 at 8:55 PMThis Mace sucks, you cant upgrade this on zu legendary, so it basicly crap. At the moment ive got 120 Weapon Dmg on my Deadra-Sword, 77 at the maximum upgrade of this mace….its a loss of 36% dmg…finaly a crap mace.

December 31, 2011 at 9:46 PMOf course the mace sucks for a level 40+. This one is a beast at lvl 15 (which I’m at). Smashes trolls, bears, sabres, draugr and mages with ease. Took out a draugr death lord with no problem.

May 2, 2012 at 5:26 PMOk so I look at the mace of malag bal under the weapons menu and as I was going to select to use it I see a crazy looking symbol in the upper left hand corner it look like a sideways s and it has a green glow. Anyone know what it is? What a bad ass weapon!

November 11, 2013 at 12:05 PMMy Mace of Molag Bal one hit killed a draugr deathlord and then killed a blood dragon in 5 hits so don’t say it’s a sh*t weapon

February 21, 2015 at 2:19 AMI upgraded it to legendary, and at level 125 it takes up to 3 blows to kill.Often one is enough,so certainly it is very powerful.
