Vanguard Bandits, a Japanese strategy RPG that was released on the first Playstation, was developoed by a studio names “Working Designs” and has closed its doors back in 2005. The President of Working Designs, Victor Ireland, has since opened a new studio named Gaijinworks, and has confirmed that Vanguard Bandits will be re-released onto the North American PSN some time next week.
Ireland recognizes that many games that were developed by Working Designs were loved and still have a strong following; over recent years, he has been making effort to re-publish some of the titles. This is great news to the collectors out there as some of these games can cost well over $100.
Vanguard Bandits will be released at a $9.99 price point, something Ireland said he had hoped to avoid, but which was necessary in order to have the re-release happen. However, on internet message forum NeoGAF, he made the following statement in regards to that price:
“We’re doing something fan-centric next week on launch day that I hope will take a little of the sting out of it.”
