Recently it was announced that Modern Warfare 3 shattered previous sales records for its outstanding launch. Not content with just one record, however, MW3 has already raised the bar in another area.
Microsoft informed Activision that their title has “set a new peak concurrency record”. This was due to everyone hopping on Xbox Live to partake in the multiplayer aspect of Modern Warfare 3.
So, let’s recap. The initial 24 hours following launch yielded 6.5 million sold copies and $400 million in revenue. When put into perspective like that, it’s no wonder that the game reached an all-time high on Xbox Live.
