Up until now, all we’ve known is that Battlefield 3’s Back to Karkand DLC has a target date somewhere in December. Now, thanks to Asia’s Playstation Store (the listing seems to have been removed now), we have been given a release date of December 7th.
That would mean that US owners of the PS3 version of Battlefield 3 would most likely be seeing the content arrive December 6th. With the deal for timed-exclusive content going on between DICE and Sony, Xbox 360 owners will have access to the DLC a week later, December 14th.
New maps, weapons, vehicles as well as a new mode are all contained within this pack. If you pre-ordered the game, then you’ll be given all of this at the low low cost of $0. Everyone else will have to put up $15 to partake in this added content.

November 30, 2011 at 8:16 PMIts because COD has a deal with microsoft so Battlefield couldnt do that so they made a deal with sony.

November 30, 2011 at 11:51 PMIts because DICE developed BF3 mainly for pc and ps3 owners. Xbox got a less effective port of the game because of its less effective processor. So why not give it to the console they have more specifically designed the game for first? Then theirs MW3 with its first map pack going Xbox first, that is because that is the console that supplies them with the most revenue.

December 1, 2011 at 3:31 AMThe above comment is highly incorrect. The specifications for both consoles are about equal though the xbox slightly outdoes PS in Graphics but is near unnoticeable. The reason is COD had done a deal with Xbox before DICE had even planned to. BF3 was also built for the PC then ported to the consoles. Xbox and PS use a much different coding language to the PC there for it cannot be built for the PC and PS3 at the same time. It has also been stated many times throughout the development of the game that it is being built for the pc only and then being ported the the consoles. You must be a PS3 Fanboy to have such arrogance. Next time do some more research.

December 1, 2011 at 3:59 AMIt’s not because of it being designed for the PC and PS3…it wasn’t developed as a console game at all…the entire BF series has been and always will be a PC franchise…it was ported to the consoles. (PS3 owner myself). PS3 owners get it early because DICE was going to ship BF3 with a copy of BF1943 free for all PS3 copies, however they rescinded that offer for whatever reason and instead they’re giving PS3 owners Back to Karkand a week early. In not so many words that was the statement released by DICE themselves which you can check for yourselves.

December 2, 2011 at 5:03 PMWhen you look at the statistics, there are always more players on Xbox than other platforms. According to BF3stats.com the Xbox averages about 80,000 people online at any given time, PS3: 60,000 and PC: 50,000. So looks to me like the Xbox crowd is giving BF3 the most support! :)
