So you just picked up you copy of Uncharted 3 at a midnight release party; you get home and decided to check out the multiplayer because, even though you bought the game for the campaign you still want to know if the multiplayer is any good.
You join a match and…wait a second, is that guy level 60? How is that even possible, this game just came out! While this may not actually happen because developer Naughty Dog is smart enough to keep teams balanced, rest assured, there are indeed players that are already level 60 out there. How did this happen you may ask? Well you see, a few weeks before it’s release, Uncharted 3 ran a special promotion with Subway restaurants that allowed gamers early access to the multiplayer in which they were allowed to level up and roll over these new levels into the actual game. So take this as a lesson for the future folks, if a game is running any kind of special event, make every effort to take part or face getting left behind. Good luck catching up with the rest of us.

This article is only half right. The subway promo which assures up to level 35, isn’t the full reason. While I can’t say for certain cash past 35 counts (which would help explain it), I can tell you that the levels seemed more obtainable in the subway promo. There were level 35’s on day 2 of the promo, to give you an idea.
Anyways a lot more of this most likely comes from the prerelease event. Some AMC theaters allowed people to buy the game early and get it around a week early. My one friend got his around 9 days ago. This is more than enough time to take the subway 35 and gain 25 more levels. In addition these two forces are most likely the reason.
While I personally think its unfair for people to be out shinned instantly… I also think this system is silly to begin with. If you bought Uncharted 3 around 2 weeks later… well it wouldn’t be any different either.
