CCP, the well renowned developer of massively multiplayer online sci-fi game, Eve Online, have announced today that they will be letting no less than 120 staff go, which represents about 20% of their workforce.
This comes as a surprise considering that recently CCP have been ramping up their project work in regards to the development of World of Darkness and Dust 514, the latter of which is the PS3 exclusive first person shooter that ties into the Eve Online universe.
In a press release, CCP stated that the reason for the cutbacks was primarily down to the fact that the studio was simply trying to take on to much, and so will be reducing its workforce in order to focus more on the titles mentioned above.
They have reassured fans that the on-going maintenance and development of Eve Online, along with the upcoming Dust 514 remain their top priority, both of which will be launching trials later in the year.
